Meet the founder of Bilingual Safety Training Solutions (BSTS)! René Centeno discovered his passion for safety after graduating from college with a Master’s Degree in Spanish Literature. After looking for a teaching job in a community college to teach Spanish and only finding a part time job as a Spanish professor, he found a full time job with an insurance broker that gave him the opportunity to learn about safety and got certified to train employees for their client’s on safety. Most of these employees worked in the agriculture industry. After 7 years working as loss control representative for the insurance broker, he went to work for an international berry grower for 4 years. And in 2013 he decided to start his consulting company, BSTS. This new passion became personal, since his father worked in agriculture fields throughout California for over 40 years and his older brothers still work in agriculture.
This is one of the many reasons he created Bilingual Safety Training Solutions, to keep employees safe.
For 18 years his focus has been the safety and health of the agricultural workforce throughout California. He works with clients and helps them understand that workplace safety will benefit their business. He works with the client to create a culture of safety that leads to a culture of worker satisfaction. Creating a caring environment leads not only to a significant reduction of workplace injuries, illnesses, fatalities, and fines but also to greater productivity.

Our Mission
Our safety training can be conducted at your office, site location, and or at any off-site location of your choice. At Bilingual Safety Training Solutions, we believe that the combination of classroom instruction and hands-on practical application is an unbeatable training combination, allowing for increased student learning and retention of the safety training material. Your employees will also complete a written exam to ensure their comprehension. Documentation of the safety training is provided upon completion for your records which includes sign in sheets, agendas, acknowledgement of completion certificates and wallet cards (for some trainings). BSTS’s will also assist in the development of your site/task specific safety programs.
Site Inspections
BSTS will conduct safety inspections of your company's facilities and or job sites monthly. The sites to be inspected will be determined by your office prior to start each month. Inspections will include identification of operational hazards with an itemized written report that will address noncompliance areas.
Incident Investigation
BSTS will assist with the incident investigation for work incidents (medical, near miss, first aid) auto collisions and property damage. If your company does not have an investigation process, we will assist in the development of your company incident investigation process, Including root cause analysis. In conjunction with incident investigations, BSTS will make recommendations to prevent future incidents.
